Small Groups

Here at UMCL, small group life serves as our primary means for fostering spiritual growth within individuals. Jesus used a small group in which he invested, taught and empowered to turn the world upside down for God’s glory. We believe this radical transformation is best possible through the life of small groups where people are known, loved, forgiven, and held accountable to bring Christ into their whole lives.

Our hope is that each small group embodies the vision for what a mature disciple in Christ is, one who is ever: connecting relationally, growing in grace and wisdom, and actively impacting the community.

No matter where you are in your life and faith story, we have a small group in which you can belong.

Below are a few of our small groups

Journey of Faith

Sundays at 10:45am in person and via Zoom
Together we grow in our faith through Bible studies, video series, and prayer. We meet once a week after the worship service in order to grow our relationships both which each other and with our Lord.

Lectio Divina

Mondays at 9:30am in person and via Zoom
Lectio Divina group is a group that uses the Scripture passage (usually from the previous Sunday’s sermon) to read, meditate, pray, and quietly rest in God’s loving presence. This is a group that helps us listen to God and have spiritual conversations with each other and Him.

Priscilla Circle

Third Tuesday of the month at 9:30am in person and via Zoom
Priscilla Circle is a daytime, United Women in Faith (formerly UMW) circle. Consider a “circle” like a group of friends that you have for life! We enjoy programs about UWFaith as well as spiritual growth, mission and social justice issues and opportunities.

Inquirers

Tuesdays at 7pm via Zoom
Inquirers Bible Study is a co-ed group. We merged groups as we studied Disciple Bible Study, the long term version, in about 2009. After completing the 6 long-term
studies, we have participated in the all church-wide studies and choose other studies based on group interest throughout the year.
